Housed in Old City Hall, a National Historic Landmark with a cavernous upstairs dining room, Maison Robert has served French food since 1971. French Master Chef Jacky Robert, more daring than previous chefs, prepares traditional dishes like filet mignon with bearnaise sauce and more inventive ones like roasted rabbit with salt-cod mashed potatoes. His cousin Andree Robert cooks for the more casual cafe downstairs. (prix-fixe menus: $17 and $25)
